WEDDING AT THE BEACH OF SCHEVENINGEN| WEDDING PHOTOGRAPHY THE NETHERLANDS Nathalie & Thorben’s wedding was one that that we had been looking forward to a lot, for different reasons… They were getting married in the Netherlands, despite the fact they live in Germany, so it was going to be a wedding with an international atmosphere! Nathalie is originally Dutch but grew up in Germany where she and Thorben met when they were very little. And as life goes, friendship evolved into love, which is exactly why they wanted to seal their relationship with marriage! They had decided to get married in the Netherlands because of their special connection with our country. Some relatives still live here so when they come to visit they would also always visit the Dutch shores. We were thrilled, as a beach wedding is always a pleasure! The day started for us at the Hilton Hotel in The Hague, where family and friends were gathering. Bride and groom preparations took place in different rooms, so we divided and started capturing some of those moments. All went well except for Thorben’s tie (no collaboration), so everyone present was doing what they could to get the tie to tie ;-). Thorben’s inlaws had prepared a massive surprise for him and organized a vintage Ford Mustang as a wedding car! So bride and groom left in style for the church ceremony which was to take place at the Nieuwe Badkapel in Scheveningen. During the ceremony there were a few performances by the über-talented singer/songwriter Edwin Monteyn and his pianist Gijs van Winkelhof. The performances were in one word stunning and brought quite a few people to tears. These guys are a must if you are looking for some stylish music at your wedding! The festivities were to continue at beach club ‘Doen!’, what a great location for a party! In between of course we took a moment to go for a walk with the bride and groom and take some pictures of the two of them. Earlier this year we had already done a great pre-wedding shoot with them in Breda, so they quickly felt comfortable again in front of the lens and as always that shows in the pictures! ;-) In short, a great day with a lovely bride & groom and fantastic people that know how to throw a party! Many thanks to my second shooter that day, friend and colleague Daniëlle Guillonard, was great! Dear Nathalie & Thorben, we hope you have done the ‘polonaise’ until the early hours of the morning and wish you all the best, enjoy your images!
