Journalistic wedding photography Rotterdam | Documentary wedding reportage at Hotel New York, Erasmus bridge & The Vertrekhal
As a documentary wedding photographer Rotterdam it is a true pleasure to learn that your wedding couple is getting married at The Vertrekhal in Rotterdam, one of Holland’s finest wedding locations! So when Marielle & Ernesto booked us for their Vertrekhal wedding, we were thrilled :-). The cherry on the pie came when the bride told us she would do her preparations on the day at Hotel New York, which is situated along the river Maas and is an iconic art-deco Rotterdam landmark. It was opened in 1901 and is the former head-office of the Holland-America line, the place where people seeking a better future overseas, would buy their ticket from.
Luckily the couple also wanted to have their portrait photo-shoot in the surroundings of Hotel New York, with the Erasmus bridge as one of the highlights, featuring as another iconic Rotterdam back-drop. After the portrait session second shooter Fiona rode the watertaxi to The Vertrekhal with the couple, while I quickly brought the car there so we could capture the arrival of the couple – as true documentary wedding photographer Rotterdam – from both angles.
Shortly after arrival the wedding ceremony started, followed by a wedding reception and of course a lovely dinner. We stayed well into the smashing party that followed the beautiful opening dance of the couple and managed to capture the fun & joy that was widespread across the dance floor. We truly enjoyed this wonderful day with these truly lovely people so: dear Marielle & Ernesto, we wish you lots of love and happiness for your future together, in good health!
